Reporting a child's absence due to illness or a medical appointment

To report your child's absence due to illness please report this to the school office via email lowbrook@lowbrookacademy.co.uk or telephone 01628 671355 before 9am.

  • Please state clearly your child's name and class

  • Please give reason for absence - giving details of their illness

When you child returns to school a letter confirming your child's absence should be sent to the school office.

Should your child have an early morning doctor, emergency dental appointment or hospital appointment you must send a copy of the appointment must be emailed to the school office via lowbrook@lowbrookacademy.co.uk or call on 01628 671355

We do ask that all routine dental appointments are made outside of school hours. Regular appointments during the school day disrupts your child's learning.

Unfortunately, if we receive no information explaining your child's absence their time away from school will be marked as unauthorised.

Attendance Policy


Term Time Absence Request 

Amendments to the Education (Pupil Registration) Regulations state that Principals/Head Teachers may not grant any leave of absence during term time unless there are exceptional circumstances. A family holiday is not classed as exceptional circumstances. 

For any term time absence request, a 'Request for Term Time Absence Form' should be completed at least 14 days prior to the date of leave via email to lowbrook@lowbrookacademy.co.uk.  These can be obtained from the school office or click on the link below to download.
